It has just been announced that Olli Caldwell has been nominated for the legendary McLaren Autosport BRDC Award. Since 1989 the Award has been won by Formula One legends including Jenson Button and David Coulthard along with the likes of Anthony Davidson, Paul Di Resta, Dario Franchitti and in more recent years George Russell and Lando Norris.
Now Olli is looking to follow in their footsteps as he is one of just ten young drivers who have been selected as possible finalists for the competition which will see the winner receive a test in a McLaren F1 Car. It’s a huge opportunity for any young driver and recognises them as one of the countries fastest rising talents.
Now Olli needs your help!
Over the next week Olli now needs your help to make the Final shootout! To help all you need to do is send the following email:

Email – I would like to nominate Olli Caldwell
All nominations will make a difference to helping Olli make the Final and have a chance to win the McLaren F1 Test! Olli has flown the flag for Great Britain in the Italian and ADAC F4 Championships this year with great success which included a win at the German Grand Prix in front of 165,000 spectators! Considering his age and level of experience he has exceeded all expectations of those around him.
It’s been those results against the World’s best F4 drivers which has seen Olli deservedly win his place amongst the ten nominees. However, for the journey in the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award ‘MABA’ to continue Olli needs your help. Not only will contributions be hugely appreciated by Olli, but also his family, friends and sponsors!
Olli Caldwell: “To be nominated for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award is a real dream come true for me! Stepping up to do my first full season in single seater racing has been a big jump, particularly racing in both the Italian and ADAC F4 Championships. But it has so far been a fantastic season with us taking wins and podiums in both championships which included a win at the German Grand Prix. Fighting for the Italian F4 title has been a fantastic experience so far this year and I’m glad that has been recognised by MABA.”
“Looking back at the names that have come through the Award makes me feel very proud. To see the list of past and present of Formula One drivers who have both won and been nominated for MABA makes me feel that bit closer to achieving my goal of following in their footsteps one day.”
“I would hugely appreciate it if you could take the time to nominate me to become a Finalist. It would not only be a huge success for me but also for my family, friends, team and sponsors too. I will not let this distract me from the task of closing off this season, but I will be keeping my fingers crossed that we receive some exciting news from MABA in the next few weeks!”
“Thank you in advance for your support!”
